Man of La Mancha- July 12-22 at the Domino Theatre

Our summer kicks off with a golden age classic. Man of La Mancha tells the story of an historic author, Miguel de Cervante, who is imprisoned waiting for the inquisition. While in prison, his fellow inmates decide to put Miguel on trial, threatening to destroy his manuscript and trunk of theatre props and costumes. Miguel takes the prisoners on a journey into the story of an old man who decides to take on the role of a knight "Don Quixote" and sets off an adventure to right all the wrongs in the world and prove that virtue will triumph over evil.

Winner of 5 Tony Awards including: Best Musical and Best Score

Monty Python's Spamalot- August 2-12 at the Domino Theatre

A musical comedy adaptation of the Monty Python classic film "Holy Grail" a parody of the legend of King Author. This musical follows Arthur, travelling with his servant Patsy, recruits several knights to accompany him on his quest, including Sir Bedevere, Sir Robin, Sir Lancelot and Sir Galahad. On their adventures they run into ridiculous characters, all in the style of Monty Python sketch comedy.

Summer Theatre Program: Musical Theatre Intensive- August 8-25

A 3 week day camp style theatre intensive summer program for ages 8 to 14! Our goal is to create well-rounded musical theatre performers with professional attitudes. Days will consist of dance, vocal and acting training. An optional part of the day will be taught in French for those who wish to maintain the language over the summer. Students will spend three weeks in workshops, mock auditions, rehearsals, dance and vocal training, and at the end will perform a full-length musical. Instructors will consist of Blue Canoe alumni, drama grads, music grads, and special guest professionals from the industry. This program will focus not only on increasing skills, but also on creating a positive atmosphere, and professional attitudes among future performers.

Blue Canoe's Musical in 24 Hour- August 26 

Our summer tradition returns! We end our summer with a musical in 24 hours, a cast and director have exactly 24 hours to rehearse a musical and perform it for an audience! 

This year we'll be adding a special twist. No one, not even the cast, will know what the musical is until the 24 hours begin!
